Untitled

My history has no face
Its voice emits on strange waves
An intricate message
Written in a coded language

The enigma machine is idle
Broken or tempered with by rivals?
Silenced? Scaring idols?
What’s a man afraid of idylls?

Take me to a club where Rujindiri creates samples for beats by Dre
Take me to a church where Kagame is the padre
Take me to a mosque where Anta Diop is sheikh
Take me to a time before Misri kings “became” greek

EANT to treat Kigali to a four-night festival of contemporary dance

My first experience watching a contemporary dance performance was in Kigali. It was part of a play. As I converged all my attention towards the shirtless man trying to fly like a bird, land like a leaf and run like a gazelle in slow motion, I couldn’t help but wonder “Do those Tai Chi-like moves really mean anything or is Wesley Ruzibiza playing with us?” Over the years, my curiosity took over my skepticism.

You rock, mazina 😉 Continue reading “Des Espoirs d’un Cynique – Review on Mellow views”

Meet the Rwandan poet writing his own future – CNN

Published on 23rd Sept 2016 by CNN

When Amir Daqtar flew in Kigali for an interview, he asked me if I could give him and his crew a 360 tour of my life in on day taking them through what I do, how, why and where I do it. It all couldn’t fit in 12 minutes but at least it gives you an idea. Be inspired.
